Rosalie sighed heavily as she killed the mottor to her car, checking her make-up and hair in the mirror one more time before sliding out of the seat and closing the car's door behind her as she looked around the crowded parking lot. Carlisle had sent her to the school to keep an eye on the others, not that they needed it, but he felt their was strength in numbers because he was definetly thinking something was coming at them. Getting her day pass from the office, Rosalie claiming she was visiting from college in order to check up on friends and teachers [it would seem Humans were truly suckers for that kind of sentiment] Rosalie breezed through the school towards the cafeteria. She blithely ignored the stares she recieved as she breezed through the room, weaving around tables with ease and grace having to make sure she didn't move too quikly and give herself away.
She fell into a chair that was emptied for her by a boy who stared at her with open mouthed awe. She paid him no mind as she leaned back in the chair glancing around the table, the occupants were the same as last years. Catching Edward's eye she pursed her lips slightly,'Carlisle sent me.' thinking this to him before she adopted her normal gentle pout she looked around the table eyeing Bella slowly,"Good day Bella." she spoke softly and with a near forced kind tone. Rosalie was at least attempting a civil tone, for once. She would be stuck being around Edward and Bella all day at Carlisle's assistance, and while she did love Edwrad as her brother she still had issues with one Bella Swan that were proving diffucult to overcome.

With the tray filled with an assortment of food pushed between him and Bella, Edward barely noticed much else. Since he no longer required food to survive it seemed like an unnecessary thing, but he put up the act anyways for the necessity of having to appear human. It was one of the reasons why he had pushed the tray between himself and Bella, she needed the food more than he did, in fact if he left it between them and occasionally picked at it, no one would have thought much of it. His golden eyes were focused rather intently on the burnette sitting across from him at the lunch table, Bella did look rather beautiful today. He had told her this morning, but she had passed it off as usual, he loved it when she appeared flustered -- it usually got her blushing. A smile ghosted across his serene expression as he eyed her again, there was a good feeling now burning through him.
The lunchroom held the usual noisy chaos and Edward could not help but cringe slightly at the escalating noise. It sounded like everyone was YELLING. That was how it always sounded whenever he was in a room filled with people, because they were not only using their voices to scream across the room to each other but they were yelling on the inside too. Their voices seemed to rise in a chorus that lacked harmony in both his ears and the inside of his mind. It always took a lot of work to turn the voices off, but Edward approached it now with a certain command and skill that had taken years to learn to possess. Edward's long white fingers tapped on the table in a slight thrumming rythme that was lost underneath the chaotic discussions of their classmates that were happening nearby. His golden eyes skimmed the smooth surface of the lunch table in thought as he let his mind wander. Conversation had been slight today at the lunch table, although the other half of the lunch table was rather animated. Edward was silent, he seemed a little bit preoccupied as he tried to focus his own thoughts, his fingers were trying to occupy themselves. His fingers had found a paper napkin situated on the edge of the tray that was between him and Bella. His fingers folded the corners of it delicately as he stared vacantly in Bella's directon, his eyes cast a loving stare. A smile played at the edges of his lips as played with the napkin between two of his fingers, he wore a subtle bored expression. The lunch period always seemed to drag on for hours now, but maybe that was just him, perhaps it was only because they could only have such limited discussions in the prescence of others. No matter what the reason, Edward found nothing notably great about the next forty five minutes that they would spend in lunch together -- other than the reason that he would be able to stare shamelessly as Bella sat across the table from him -- throwing her the occasional fond glance.
Suddenly his train of thoughts were broken by the immediate thoughts of those not to far off. 'She's so beautiful,' 'What's her name?,' 'Who is THAT?' Immediately the thoughts flooded Edward's mind and from the descirptions he knew to well that Rosalie was on her way. He wondered briefly why she was coming here of all places, and what reason could have sent her so far from where she was supposed to be -- which really was not South Africa after all, merely just the Cullen house. Edward did not dwell long on these thoughts for she was coming towards them rather quickly -- at a normal human pace of course - but quick nevertheless. He knew that she was close to them even before she plopped into the chair at the table at which Edward and Bella sat. He looked up looking rather unalarmed as her thoughts flooded towards him, understanding furrowed across his brow. 'Carlisle sent me.' Oh, okay, he could deal with that. This new information seemed not to bother Edward much, now he was just on the defensive to see how Rosalie would act around Bella. He knew that she knew of his fondness for the girl, but still, Rosalie could be so uncivil sometimes.
"Good day Bella."
Her voice was crisp and civil enough, at least for Edward, there was a noticiable relief that washed through his golden eyes. He shifted them swiftly towards Bella on the other side of the table, trying to observe her expression at Rosalie's arrival. He knew that it probably hurt her more than helped her that she did not much have Rosalie on her side when it came to wanting to be a vampire. Of course soon all of this could be changed, but Edward was not ready to take that course of action. The involuntary thought brought a chill to his already marble cold spine. His golden eyes were downcast for a moment before he flicked them up again, moving them towards his sister. "Hello Rosalie." His tone was calm, his voice almost soothing, there was no noticiable edge in it. His fingers had now retreated from the red lunch tray, the napkin left warpped and twisted in their wake. His attention was now focused simultaneously on his sister and Bella who was still seated across from him. She was always stuck somewhere in the corner of his eye for he felt a constant need to watch her, observe her, if only to get a better insight into what she was thinking about at that moment.

Bella gently picked at her food. She never really ate much during lunch, unless Edward made her. It was a usual thing. She would sit there and talk to Edward, or her friends and then would forget about her lunch and end up throwing it away. She didn't mind much though, school lunch wasn't exactly her favorite food. She smiled at Edward as she watched him toy with a napkin, and raised an eyebrow. "Edward, you must be bored" she said with a soft smile. She took a small bite of food and then a sip of drink before pushing her tray to the right of her. She put her arms up on the table and her chin on her arms, looking at Edward.
Bella was about to say something when none other than Rosalie plooped into a chair at the table. He lifted her head off of her arms and looked at the beautiful vampire as she was greeted. "Hello Rosalie...good afternoon. What brings you here?" she asked, biting her lip slightly. This was a surprise to her, and unlike Edward, she couldn't know that Carlisle had sent her. She glanced at Edward in confusion, but didn't say anything more, not wanting to be rude. She already felt that Rosalie hated her, she didn't want to make it worse. She pulled her tray towards her again and took another small bit of food before looking at Rosalie, waiting for an answer.

Rosalie ran her thin cold marble fingers through her hair some as she leaned back in her chair. This wouldn't be uncomfortable at all; she had begged with Carlisle to have Emmett go in her stead but he'd said Emmett was needed elsewhere meaning she had to go frustratingly enough. Rosalie's deep gold eyes settled on the wood of the table in front of her, she worked at keeping her thoguhts blocked from her brother for now, Edward would undoubtedly grow overly protective and anxious if he knew all of Carlisle's fears now. Instead Rosalie focused on counting the grains of black in the plywood fake table, her lips pursing in a practiced pout that only heightened her looks. Unlike the rest of the Cullens Rosalie said little but when she did it often held significant weight in the situation, it wasn't that she didn't like her 'family', just that she rarely felt the need to interject her opinion in matters.
She glanced up slowly arching one perfect eyebrow ever so slightly, a thin smile tugging at one corner of her lips,"Hello Edward. Merely checking up on old friends and teachers of course Bella." her voice held an ironic tone to it, she hated the school and the humans in it as none of them understand anything that truly mattered. She worked to keep her tone civil-ish, she didn't truly hate the girl she merely hated that Bella was willing to literally throw away her life. Sure Rosalie understood love, she loved Emmett after all; but to give away her humanity to become..a monster. None of the Cullens had been afforded that chance and Rosalie especially hated what she was and how she had become this unliving shell of what she used to be.

"Edward, you must be bored"
Her words came softly, and yet even with their gentle tones Edward did not seem startled. His golden eyes came up to level with Bella's, and he merely smiled in her direction. "And what would give you that idea?" He asked in a rather pleasant tone, there was an amused expression flashing through his golden eyes now. His fingers longed for nothing other than to weave themselves through her soft brown hair, which was had acquired a lovely shine to it on the other side of the table. Frustration would've flitted through his expression now had not Rosalie appeared, he was guarded around her because he knew that the situation was already fragile where her opinions on Bella were concerned. Although she was his sister and he did love her, he was sometimes rather disturbed when it came to her hatred of Bella. Her feelings towards Bella's commitment when it came to becoming a vampire did bother him a lot, even though he would rather Bella remain human too he did want to honor her request because in the end the choice was all hers. He could sympathesize with Rosalie's feelings at times when it came to Bella because he knew what she had gone through and what she had wanted in the first place. Occasionally he felt awful when he had no choice but to look into her thoughts and hear her accounts of the murders that she had committed along with all the other bad things that had happened before she became a vampire. He clenched his teeth a little as if remembering those thoughts that he had unwillingly extracted from his sister's mind. Sometimes he had no choice when it came to reading another's mind, he did not do it purposeful, in fact occassionally he wished that he could shut it off. For his skill was prying at the greatest extent into the personal thoughts of another. He could not help it much and in that sense he would keep his mouth shut when it came to recounting certain things. Edward was always polite about his skills and the priviledges that came with knowing what went on in another's mind. It was all he could really do to make up for seeing into their most private thoughts.
"Hello Rosalie...good afternoon. What brings you here?"
Bella's inquiring question drove Edward from his own thoughts, his attention drifted back towards Bella, his golden eyes gleaming in her direction. His lips were drawn into a hard line for he was beginning to realize the situation. Either Rosalie was counting the grains on the table because she was trying to keep her calm and concentration or else there was something she was hiding from him. He hated it when people kept things from him, but right now he was to worried about Bella to be to direct in the conversation. He waited for her response debating on whether to answer the question as he truly knew it to be answered.
"Hello Edward. Merely checking up on old friends and teachers of course Bella."
Rosalie spoke up finally and much to Edward's relief her voice remained light, although there did seem to be a hidden edge behind it. He ignored it, at least she was being 'nice' to Bella in the sense that she was talking to her. "She feels the need to every once and a while." Edward added his tones were thoughtful now as he heard her rattling off numbers inside her head. '1000, 1001, 1002... the trail of thought would have caught him off guard if he had not been listening closely. Was she just trying to control her temper? Edward was a little surprised that Rosalie had addressed Bella directly, in fact it was something that rarely ever happened. He raised an eyebrow in her direction, still wondering a bit at what the sudden change in attitude was for.

"Well...I just thought...since you don't normally play with napkins..." Bella said, trailing off with a slight blush rising on her cheeks. She looked away and bit her lip again, hoping she hadn't seemed rude for saying that. She would have apologized, but she decided it would be better to just keep her mouth shut before she ended up embarrasing herself again. She didn't like blushing so easily, she hated it. If she could change one thing about herself...well, she would make herself vampire. But right now, that was deffinately beside the point. Back to the point however, if she could get rid of it, she would stop her blushing in an instant, though, she knew Edward loved her blushing.
She looked to Rosalie and nodded. "Oh, that sounds fun. I didn't know you were into those kind of things. I thought as soon as you graduated you wouldn't come back to the school. It is nice to see you though" Bella said, almost in a ramble. She was hoping to maybe get Rosalie to like her a bit more, and she realized she was kind of sucking up to her, but she couldn't help it. She didn't like being hated, but unless Rosalie wanted to like her, then she would not really be helping herself by sucking up. Though, if it did help, then her and Rosalie could be friends. 'Oh, now I am rambling in my thoughts' Bella thought, saking her head slightly at herself as she stopped her thought process.
